A NEWFOUNDLAND PROTEST.
(Received September L-.a, 10.25 p.m.) ST. JOHN'S, September 10. The principal Government organ in Newfoundland says tho colony nas again been sacrificed and the Government over-ridden. The modus viveaui was entered into regardless of the Government's protests and advice, 'ihe journal adds that tho local lawe ought to bo 'enforced, and if the modus vivendi is in conflict with tnem, the Imperial Government must get out of the difficulty as best it can.
