WELLINGTON v. WAIRARAPA.

(PItKSS ASSOCIATION TELEOBAiI.) MASTERTON, September 7. Wellington and Wairarapa representatives met at Masterton to-day. A fast and interesting game resulted, of which Wairarapa had slightly tho best. Play was confined principally to tho forwards, though there were occasional flashes of back play, Wellington .showing to most advantage in this department. In the first spell there was no score. The visitors got on several neat passing rushes in tho second spell, and from one of these Evenson scored, but tho kick at goal was fruitless. Shorty afterwards McKenzie equalised matters by kicking a goal from half-way. Tho game ended three all. .

Mitchinson,- tho Wellington "All Black," was "off colour." and Roberts and Wallace were not playing.
