CHRISTCHURCH SAILING AND POWER BOAT CLUB.
Tho annual meeting of the Christchurch Sailing and Power Boat Club was held last night, when a very largo number of members were present.
The annual report stated that no fewer than forty new members had been elected during tho past season, making tho total membership 160, as as against 120 the provious year. In addition twelve new members had been elected for the coming season. The fleet had been augmented by the addition of seven power boats, one yacht, and two punts, making a total of -13, as against 33 last year. The Club was well represented at tho Lyttelton Regatta, and succeeded in winnine two prizes.
Tho balance-sheet showed that the leceipts for tho year totalled £97 14s 9d, while the expenditure had been £80 10s 2d, leaving a credit balanco of £17 4s 7d. Tho assets were valued .it £241 4s 7d, and the liabilities at C"o. leaving a credit balanco of £l_j 4a 7d.
The following officers were elected :— President, Mr J. S. Monck; vice-pre-sidents, the Hon. H. F. Wigram, the Hon. C. Louisson, and _lossrs Geo. Payling, G. Lauienson, M.H.R., G. Mitchell. F. Pratt, S. P. Andrews, M.' Davie, P. Burke, N. Speechley, and J. Trent; commodore, Mr H. J. Raphael; vice-commodore, Jlr G. M. Lonnier, rear-commodore, Mr James M. Dunlop; hon. secretary, Mr D. Marqnet, bon. treasurer, Mr J. W. Beanland; committee, Messrs H. W. L. Digby, L. Pickles, F. Booth, J. Smith and S. Burroughs; hon. auditor. Mr C. J. Atkinson; yacht handicapper, Mr G. Moon; punt handicapper, Mr J. Smith; motor handicapper, Mr J. M. Dun lop. It was resolved to adopt the one-class-oue design system foi tho next five years, and to set apart £10 i.nnually to provide a prize tor tho new tjpe of boat, on condition that three new boats were built.
