« CLASS INSTRUCTION FOR OFFICERS. The Officer Commanding the District received yeoterdlay from the Council of Defence .an important memorandum relating to the instruction of volunteer officers. The memorandum states th*t * tea. days' continuous course of instruction for officers is to be hela at each centre on dates to be arranged. Camps or quarters are to bo established to enable the duties and the general instruction work to be carried out in detail from "Reveille" to "Last Post," the work boing of a practical nature combined with lectures end studies. Service uniform k to be used', and tihe necessary ammunition for field work is to bo drawn from the field firing allowance. Captain, E. W. Lasoelles, of the 3rd Dragoon Guards, who has lately from England, and who ie now attached to the general instructional school, will supervise the different camps, and will be tue inetructor-in-chief. and a suitable certificate will be issued to each officer attending tne claea. The eyllabus of work is divided into heads as follows:—Drill 1} days, muekotry lj days, tactics 4 days, administration 1 day, practical tactical exercises 2 days. For the futuro instruction classes for non-comifciesioned officers will be heldi in the .Xon-Coms.' Club room every Monday and Friday. The first class will be held to-night, when the subject of instruction will be company drDl under the new manual.
