On Friday, at &heffieki snle, the yarding of slieep a-rjici' lamb 3 totaJled about 3000, of which 1150 wore in the fat pern, 550 being lambs, the greater j?art ot which were only forward stdres. TTTc balance of fats were fairly evenly divided between ewes anu wothois, only a few of either class being good freezers.. In the store pens lambs formed about half the entry, all other classes lie ing about equally divi:i«xi. There was an average attendance, but the sale throughout wns dragging. ')he only linos evoking competition were prime freezers anil good forward, -wetiiers. Prizes were: Fat wethers 20s ;ki to 21s lid. light and unfinished 18s to 19e 5); l, fat lambs (light weigh. 15e to 10s, a few to 17s Oα; fat crossbred ewes 12e to I (is lid; fat merinos "8s to 0s; store lambs 10s to 13s Gd; two and four-tooth crcesbred owes in lamb 19s (all others were passpcij; sound-mouth merino ewes in lamb 6. _ to 7s ltd, aged sorts -Is; two-tooth crossbred wethers 12e_ 4d to 15s 2:1; six and eight-tooth forward merino wethers 10s <xl. There wore about 30 head of mixed cattle yarded, but only ,v very few tales were made.
