THE AEMY CHAMPIONSHIP. United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Cuprricbt. ft LONDON, July 4. Shooting for the Army championship at Bisley at 200 yds, 500 yds and 600 yds, Sergeant-Major Wallingford mndo threo consecutive scores of 100, 102, and 105. Sergeant-Major Instructor Wallingford is acknowledged as one of the greatest shots in England. He has cm feovoril occasions been the winner of the Army Championship, or close to it. His best performance was, however, at the Hague, at the great International Meeting there, when practically all the- crack shots of the world wero gathered, and ho stood out ac the beet. Being en Imperial soldier, Ire is not allowed to compete for the King's Prize, as well as man} , other of the best trophies, at Hisley, yet with his contracted chances he did very good work at the last mooting. Some of Wallingford's scores were:—"Graphic" (oOOyda) 3-j, "Daily Graphic" end Alexandra (200 yds) 62, "Daily Telegraph" and Alexandra (600 yds) 58, Steward Challenge Cup (500 yds) 34. Wantage Hapid-firing (200 yds) 22, Singer (600 yds) 34, Secretary of Stato for War (SGfiyds) 44, Duke of Cambridge (900 yds) 41, Imperial Tobacco (lOOOvds) 30. In addition to these, Wallingford won the Martin's Cup for the highest aggregate in rapid-firing matches, was 17th in the tlkington Long Hange Aggregate, and - 78th in the All-Comers' Aggregatt*. In the United Service Challenge Cup, firing for tho Army, ho made 90 at 200, 500, and GOOyds. With the revolver. Wallingford is no mean shot, as at Bisley Inst year he won the Revolver Gold Modal, and was second for the Gold Badge. In tho Winens Challenge Cup, at 20 and 50yds, he put up 136, tho highest score for tho Army, and tho third highest individual score. Other ecoros with tho revolver were: — Deliberate 2nd, long range 3rd, and Ist at vanishing target. \Vallingford will bo a member of tho British team which visits Australia in October next.
