ROAD BOARDS.
EYItETON. Tho lest meeting of the Eyreton Road Board wee attended by Messr* Uurgin (in the chair), Dixon and Skevjngton. A letter was read from Mr E. J. Right on, enclosing a cheque for £n 15s 3d, refund from amount contributed to tho North Canterbury Court al the Exhibition. Messrs Beswick and linrrie wroto, complaining of injury nllegod to bo done to a certain property through Mr William Lynskey's neglect to clean out tho lower portion of Burgess's Creek. It wne resolved that Mr Lynskoy be written to, re questing him to attend to matter. Tho Farmers' Union wrote, requesting the Board to subscribe towards providing suitable accommodation for the study of chemietry at Canterbury College. The clerk was directed to reply that the Board regretted their inability to eubeeribe, through want of funds. Mr George Payling, Mayor of Christchurch, wrote, requesting the Board to contribute towards a marblo buet of the late Sir John Hall, to be placed in tho Municipal Chambers. The clerk was directed to reply that tho Board regret being unable to do so through want of funds. Mr William Madeley, wroto complaining of cattle etraying in the river Eyre, damaging the willow embankmente and crope of neighbours. Tho clerk was directed to instruct the ranger to impound all etock straying in the Eyre riverbed. Charles MoOrath presented * letter from Messrs Harper and Harper requesting the Board to make an order under section 9 of the Land Drainage Amendment Act, 1890, calling on Mr William Lynskcy to clear the water-course on his property leading in to Inglefield'e creek of all weeds, refuse, and other obstructions calculated to impede the free flow of water in the said drain. It wae resolved that, notice bo given Mr Lynskey to clean out etich -water-course. Accounts amounting to £193 -Is 6d were passed. OXFORD. The laKt meeting of the Oxford Road Board was attended by all tho merol>om. It was resolved to pay fanners fid per yard for bouldors if placed hi convenient positione for metallinp roads; also, that the south end cf Raima's, Woodstock, and Gorge, and Depot Gorge roade be graded ac soon as the stone crushing is finished.
