MR C. P. SKERRETT.

Mr Skerrett was born and educited in Wellington. Ho wns first articled to the firm of Messrs Bell, Gully, and Izard, and was admitted to the practice of his profession in 1885. In 1837 Mr Skerrett became a member of thohrm of Messrs Brown, Skerrett, and Dean, but retired in 1893, when ho beetme senior partner in the firm of Skerrett nnd Wylio. Mr Skerrett is looked upon ns one of the ablest members ot tho New Zealand Per, and a few months ago, when the Native Land Co-nrni«.«i"n commenced its 1 lbonrs. wis chosen by tho Government to specially roio-: .it tho nat yes of the colony beforo tho Commission. MR T. I.~JOYNT. Mr T. I. Joynt is ono of tho oldest bi-rri-ters and solicitors, in Christchurch, whero he has practised for very many years. Latterly ho has not been so prominent in legal circles as he wis in former years, but he is generally recognised ns a man of undoubted standing in his profevion, and one who has thoroughly earned tho distinction which has now been conferred on him. In 1870 he wns nrticlod to Mr Samuel Jackson, now of JaoUon and Russell, ono of tho oldest legal firms in the colony. Ho wa.s admit to ! in October, 1575, and removed a couple of montlis later to Dunedin (where ho hns lioon ever since), becoming managing clerk to Mr Kenyon. and after twelve montlis, he joined that gentleman in partnership. The firm of Kein-on and Keeking, still in existence. is one of the oldest legal business** in Dunedin. Mr Hosking has been a member of the Council of the Otag--. Ixsw Society for tho past twenty-five years. Ho iff also a member of the New Zealand Council of Law Reporting.
