Autumn sown crops, whicli mo likely to bo damaged by trosts, may be saved by placing branches of deciduous trees over thorn. This will break tiio tro_t, and safeguard tho young plants from being luted and thrown out ot tbe giounU, _ not unusual experience when the winter is a severe oue.
