A rush by the Union forwards reached the home twenty-five, and from a penalty Townsend made a good attempt to equalise; the ball hitting the post. Misfioltling by the Union backs ]*t Egan away, and play settled down in tiho visitors' half. Kraser had an attempt from a penalty, which failed.Several free-kicks by the Greene wore msultless, and good following up by Iliirvoy enabled him to register the Greens' second try, Hay converting shortly before half-time. On resuming the visiting forwards set up a strong attack, and only over-eagerness lost a certain score. A goodf passing rush by Lin wood backs was spoilt by Ormamly failing to take the ball. Continuing tho attack, n jweeing rash between Dennehy, Ormandy. Krasc-r and Egnn, gave tho latter a try, which was not improved uj>oll. Play was very even for a time, till I/cydnn initiated a rush, and after some passing between Fraser and Egan, the former scored, Hay converting- From this out Linwood had the best of fcho game till tho whistle sounded. Mr Hooper wae referee.
