CASHEL STREET TRAM LINE.
TO TIIK FJMTOR OF " THE THESS. Sir. I quite agree with your correspondents "Cadiel Street" and Visitov" that the above tramlino chonld be reconducted without further delay. Apart from the injustice which appears to have I>ecn done to the residents of tho eastern part of the city and theloner portion of the Linwood ward, it appears to mc that something will have to he done to relieve the New Hnghton line of the surplus of traffic now being forced upon it. The cars are nearly always packed; very often (Handing room is at a premium, and the d'day arising from tho fit an more, road, Linwood and New Brighton ours all running on one line of rails is causing a largo amount of annoyance and inconvenience to pawengei*. and it is merely a qucston whether the Board will lay a duplicate line down Worcester street or relay the lino along: Cashel street to the fitannioro road. The latter is undoubtedly the proper course to adopt, ats not only wilt it facilitate th« running of the New Brighton and Linwood services but -will develop a very large traffic amongst some 3060 or -1000 people to -whom the existing service is practi-" cally iifeles-s.—Yours, etc.. RESIDENT.
