At the Magistrate's Court on Friday, before Mr V. G. Day, 5..v.. ! Frank Morcan was charged with order- : ing liquor without giving the name of ! tlio person, for whom the liquor was ! intended. Defendant was fined 40s and ' costs. A similar information against i William Bushell was adiotirned ti'i I March 22nd. Walter MdfUky, Chnst- • church, was charged with delivering to : lioorge Bales, a resident of th© Aehburton uo-lioense district, a package containing port wine, without labelling it, as required by the liquor laws. In regard to failure to labeJ, His Worship regarded that a.s a teeiinical offence and inflicted a fin© of 40s and j ©cftts. Andrew Stnraeon was charged | with failing to provide for his three
children in the Christchurcb Industrial Rewiring Home. An order waa made that defendant should pay 3s a week towards the maintenance of each chiSd. Flora Allan Chalmens aaed Jsmes Chalmers for maintenance on tho grounds of desertion, complainant algrng that eh* had to Hre h«r home on account of defendant's conduct. After hearir.g evidence for the complainant, hie Worship said there was not sufficient evidence to jnstify the making of an order, and the information would be dismissed. In the cfl£ee of D.
