EXHIBITION MUSIC.

Tlie re was a most encouraging attendance at -he concert given m, the Conoort Hall yesterday afternoon. Tho programme included, among other items, Auber's tuneful overture "Le Cheval Bronze," am air varie for violin and orchestra by Mr Alfred Hill, and t_>o "Peer Gynt" suite by Greig. In -yie evening the Orchestra played very successfully in tho corridor, where there was a very large attendance. The outstanding items of an enjoyable programme wero the andante movement from Scihubert's symphony in C, and "Norwegian Scenes" by Hamm. This aftem-con there will be a popular concert by the Orchestra in the Concert Hall, for which a very good programme of miscellaneous music has been arrai*sed. In the evening there will be a concert in which t>ho Orchestra will take part, artd Mtb Emily Sutherland, an Aucklrmd contralto, will sing "Tonight" (Zand©) and "Happy Song" (Teresa Del Reigo).
