Fruit is also affected by tbo westhor, cborries especially, and will be com* parotively scarce for Christmas trado. Many varieties which .are usually -A tho full flush of the season for Christmas trade, are etjuite past this year, and those whioK come in for the Nesw V«or will take their plaoe. Gooseberrieas, currants and raspberrwa aro 'all mora forward this year than for many seasons past, reminding horticulturists ot the summers of years ago. American early puma aro vory plentiful this season on tho POninsula. They are now changing colour, and will bo ripe by the first of next month. It is some years sines this popular early plum yielded a heavy crop in tbis part of tbo country, lato spring frosts aocounting for its bearrennoas.
