If they started an iiidfixiivlent Flock Book, other bretvlers would do the K-ime, aji«! there woul-l not be sufficient to earnon the proent Flfyk Hook, whi<\h was to f-erve a uft:'.ful purpotw. 'I'lm Chairman Mr Maiisell whether, if a etud fliv.k book wen , «tHrt*n] as an appendix to the present Flonk Hook, it would be rooognitscd ia Aurtra.li.a? Mr MiijiKoll fijiid ho hail not coneiMered that point, but they would have to Ik) neponnible for the aocniraey ot the. pedigrees. If an association of Shropshire breedera asßUimed that renponsibilify, they would have to irecoguiee their book in Australia. Such an a.ssoci«t.ioti could work in crnijtinctmn with th« New /xwland Sheep Breeders' Association. Mr C. W. Reid paid they would have to register individual owes to bring the book irato liiuo with the Australian ami Tanmanian Shropshire Flock Books. What they wanted was an absolutely British section to the prewnt Flock Book. There would be no difficu-Vty about it. Mr W. Seth-Smith pointed out that there mifjht be a difficulty in that this proposal would have to be approved by all tho other breeders tho colony who were members of the Sheep Breeders' Association. Mr Mansell said it was possible they might adopt the same course in regard to othor breeds and there might be sufficient entries to form two books, one for purely stud sheep and the other for breeding flock rams. Tho bulk of the breeders of flock rams would not take the trouble or cro to the expense ot publishing th« whole of the pedigrees. He could not imagine, however, that the other breeders would object to Mr Reid's euggftstion. Mr C. W. Reid moved—"That the Chairman be asked tx> got all information from Australia concerning the flock book question, and bring it beforo the Council of the New Zealand Sheep Breeders , Association, and that a hearty vote of thanks be passed to Mr Mansell. ,, Mr C. Deal seconded the motion, which was carried unanimously. The question of forming a Shropshire Sheep Breeders' Association waR considered premature.. but asked his opinion after tho meeting Mr Mansell snid he considered such a step would bo necessary.
