WkDN'ESDAT, SirTEMBEB 19

The Council met at 2.30 p.m. VARIOUS BILLS. Tho Regulation of Bellamy's Bill (Mr Reeve.) was read a first time. The Arbitration Act Amendment Bill was read a second time.

The* Firearms Bill was recommitted and further amended. Tho Imprisonment penalty for youths was eliminated, and a new clause was inserted providing for the forfeiture of a firearm in the event of conviction of a youth under lo years of age for a breach of the law.

The Fisheries Ccn-servation Bill was recommitted and a further amendment made in the ■•iv-gulruions" clanre. The Council ro---e at 3.10 p.m.
