POLICE COURT.

Messrs W. H. Hargreaves and W. Prudhoe, J.P.s, presided at the Police Court yesterday. John Howard was fined 20s and costs for drunkenness while in charge of a horse and cart. John Walter Evans, who was also in the cart and und«r the influence of liquor, was lined 10s. David Myer, for inebriety, was convicted and ordered to pay 2s cab hire. James Kelleher, for disorderly behaviour while drunk on the Christehurch railway station platform, was lined 10s Michael Grimes, Percy Jenkins and Reginald Olwer were each fined 10s and costs, and William Brittenden and George Grainger os, for riding bicycles on the footpath. Mary Nelson and Harry Purvis were each fined ss, and Frank Campbell, Phillip Tisch, Charles Hunt* and James McDonald Rountree 10s for allowing cattle to wander. Arthur Challinor, for driving without a light, was fined 20s. Cyril Dalloiv was fined 5s for hawking without a licenseAlexander Duncan, alias Thomas, alias A. Creagh, was remanded until September 26th on a charge of theft. Bail was allowed accused in £25, and one surety of £50 or two in £25.
