The finals for the Boxing Championships last night, were witnessed by the Governor and his staff, who must have feflt keenly disgusted with the behaviour of a section of the audience on two occasions when the decisions of the referee did not meot with their enKghtened approval. The hooting and cries of "Chuck him out" were painful, and frequent and free fw some minut«e. It is a great pity the Hooligan element amongst the spectators could not be excluded. THE AUSTRALIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS. (FUSS ASSOCIATION* TELEGRAM.) ■ WELLINGTON, August 11. The Committee of the New Zealand Boxing Association has select**! the following team to visit Australia to compete in tho Championships to be held there on the Bth end 12th September—Bantame, Tracey (Wellington); feather-weights, Treeizo (Ashburton); light-weights, Maizey (Christchurch) or Pnrker (Dunedin); middle-weight, Nash (Christchurch) or Lewis (Auckland); heavyweight. McConnell (Auckland). Mr W. G. Afcack (Christchurch) president of the New Zealand Council, goes as manager of the team. The selection is regarded as c very strong one.
