Sir Lewis Dibdin (Dean of the Arches), speaking at the Canterbury Diot-esaj. Coiilerer.oo at Lambeth Palace on tlio funds of the Church as administered by tho Ecclesiastical Commissioners and Queen Anne's Bounty, said tlio most valuable properties wero the mining estates formerly belonging to tho diocese of Durham and the Metropolitan aud suburban, estates, formerly belonging-to the Bishop of London aiul tlie Deans of St. Paul and Westminster. Tho income obtained frosm this property amounted to £2,172,456. Tho policy-was to mako each living worth £300 with a house, and much had been done to secure that object, but much remained to be done.
