STATEMENT BY THE PREMIER. United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, July 13. Mr Carruther3, tho Premier, made a statement to-day that the Government felt its position acutely in connection with the Lands Commission. "The public mind, ,, he said, "is being inflamed, and there is a cry for a victim, and a demand for something to be done. The trouble is that wo are a law-abiding country, and nothing can be done, except in accordance with the law."
