Tho Bishop accepted from tho sub-committee a suggestion that visits by a deputy of the Bishop should bo made in districts whore the contributions to the etipend of the vicar ought to bo incrcaeed, cr an assistant euirato nko supported. A report by the Subj Committee for Education was road and received. A letter from Messrs Smith and Anthony, in re the New Zealand Church News, was lfad and received. , It was agreed to recommend tho Church Property trustees to mako a further loan cf £100 to the cure of Phillipstown, for re-roofing the nave of their 1 Church. Direction was given to tho I treasurer to pay th« unsettled Church i Mission fund grants at last year's rate !up to September 30ih. Archdeacon Harper reported as to the looal contributions from Bojiceiififield and Kingßdown; and Archdeacon Scott reported ' that tlio local contribution from Cboka, ! Archdeacon Scott reported tho result of a conference with the vestry of St. John's, Clirifitchurch. The treasurer reported that £30 had been paid by Ohoka towards the vicarage repairs, and the work set on foot.
