An extraordinary pauic occurred in twenty New York schools owing to the report that tho doctors intended to cut the tonsils of thousands of foroign Jewish children to prevent them speaking anything except English. Parents rushed to tho rescue, and there was much rioting. Doctors wero assaulted whilo performing slight operations for adenoids. The police restored order and closed tho schools.
