SHARP FIGHTING WITH BAMBAATA.
NATIVES ROUTED
(Received June 11th, 9.2 p.m.) PIETERMARITZBURG, Juno 11. Colonels Mackenzie and Barker attempted to envelop twenty companies of Bambaata's and Mehlokazulu'o impis in the vicinity of Mome Mountain. Hearing that Colonel Barker was heavily engaged in the valley, Colonel Mackenzie, who was at the top of the mountain, descended, and succeeded in partly cutting off tho enemy. Mehlokazulu and thirty-five rebels were killed, and many wounded. The rebels were demoralised and fled soon after tho conflict began. It is reported that Bambaata was wounded. Captain MacFarlane, Transvaal Mounted Rifles, Lieutenant Mansden, Roystcn's Horse, warn killed, and six of Colonel Barker's troopers Avounded.
Colonel Royston has ordered the increaso of his force to 1000, and the Government are raising another 1000 irregulars to replace tho ritizen militia.
