A scheme has been formulated for the amalgamation of tho Burton BreAvery, Thomas Salt and Company, and Samuel Allsonp and Sons. [It was reported recently that the amalgamation avos to be effected on tho basis of Allsopps acquiring tho other two concerns in consideration of immediately guaranteeing £200.000 in cash for their pressing needs, and agreeing to pay an annuity of £70,000 for forty years. At -the end of that period tho two b tidinesses andal their assets would lielong absolutely to Allsopps. The Burton Brewery adjoins tho premises of Allsbpos at Burton, and Thoma.s Salt and Co.'s brewery is not far distant, and it Avns estimated that tho Avorking of the three concerns as ons undertaking Avould result in such a large* saving that after payment of the annuity of £70,000, Allsopps would make a profit of some £40,000 a j'ear.] CRICKET.
