Sir,—Why cannot one of those City Councillors * who attend about ono out of every threo meetings, and who lack anything approaching originality of ideas and who sit out a whole meeting ami only second other councillors motions pro forma, resign his seat, and let Mr C. M. Gray take his place, and so supply our new Mayor with a capable Ist Officer?— Yours, etc., M.W .J* Christchurch, May 2nd.
