To-night ''he Musical Union's first subscription concert of the reason will be given in the Canterbury Hall, when Leoncavallo's opera, "Pagliacci," which has created such, a favourable iinpre<.sion throughout Europe, wiU lie produced for the fir«t time in X<-w Zealand in concert form. This work is by one of -he modern oompa-ors who has come very much to the front. The soloists will be Mrs Gower Kurns. Mr Hamilton Hodges. "Mr Frank Graham, Mr W. A. Day, and Mr Reginald Vincent , there will be a chorits cf 100 voico, and full orchestra, of oO instruments all irndei- tlie direction of Dr. Uriubhaw. Adn*is-don can l>e obtained by the non-subscribing public as notified elsewhere. Tiie concert will be repeated to-morrow night.
