Two old ■Scottish songs, the beautifully pathetic ballad ''Kirkconnel Lea." and tho quaint "To Hae a Wife and Rule a ! Mr Black's singing of the ; wel!-k**own. song "Simon th- Cellarer." and "The Little Irish girl," evoked quite an ovation, and he responded by -singing "The March of the Cameron M--u" with great force and spirit. Miss Ethel Sinclair's contributions to the programme, wero all givr-n most artistically, j Hor playing in the la.-i' movement of j Greig's "Sonata in C Minor" and tho j "Legenrle" of Wieniaw.ski, particularly tie* muted passages, b?;n.g deserving of ! tlie "iiigiv-t- ]K)i=sible praise.
