| PRESENTATION' OF MEDALS.
i A largo number of people took their I final look at the Canterbury Art I Society's Exhibition in the Art Gallery 'on Saturday night. T/sist year and the year before the -society had given prizes to school children for tho bust essays on a visit lo the exhibition, but although (he compositions whicli eanie forward contained h great deal leading up to tlie gallery, and a great deal about leaving it, thero was very little about the gallery itself. Thi.s did not prom tea to do much, to foster j a love of art, and this year prizes had • been given instead for a drawing com- : portion, the results of which wero very ' creditable to the successful children. | The -attructions of the International XxI hiliition would not prevent the Art Soc- ! iety Exhibition being held next y<ar, j though it would fake place a month ; later.
