PURSUANT to the provisions oi the Standing Orders of the House of Representatives relating to Local Bills, the Christchurch Drainage Board hereby gives notice that application wiii be made to the General Asseint.lv of New Zealand in Parliament assembled at the Session now about to be held, for leave to introduce a BUI to be called the Christchurch District Drainage Act. 1575, Amendment Act, HKW. PROPOSED LOAN. ■\TOTICE is hereby given, in pursuance of the provisions of the Local Bodies Loons Act. 1901, that the Sefton-Ashley Drainage Board desires to obtain the consent of the Ratepayers of the Sefton-Ashley I>r»hMug*e District to tho borrowing of a sum" of JMOOO for tho purposes, upon the security and otherwise as heTeintafter mentioned:— (1) The particular undertakings proposed arc: (a) The erection of effective protective works in sundry positions along- the north bank of the river Ashley; (b) the erection of such works along the banks of Stoney Creek as may be required to prevent its everflow, and (o) the carrying out oi ouch works near the lower end of Fox's Creek, aa may be deemed necessary to the restraining of the water within a defined channel. (2) The sum proposed to be borrowed for purpose (a) is £3.100, for purpose (b) £200, and for purpose (c) £50-0. (3) Tho proposed security for the said loan is a special Tate of One Halfpenny in the £ on the capital value of all the rateable property in the Setton-Ashley Drainage District, provision for repayment to be made by means of a sinking fund. (4) It is proposed to pay the cost of raising tho loan, and interest upon the loan, for the first year after the same is raised, out of the loan itself. A meeting of ratepayers of the said Drainage District, to consider the said proposal, will be held in the Board's Office, Sefton, on WEDNESDAY, the 61h Tfay of June, 1905, at 7.30 p.m. THOMAS WYLLIE.
