SOUTHBRIDGE TOWN BOARD.
Tlie ordinary monthly meeting of the Southbridge Town Board was neld on Thursday evening. Present—Meagre W. 0. Smith (chairman), J. S. Chapman, J. Woods, M. Twiss, E. G. Hunbard, and W. B. Andrew. Mr G. Hannatoid wrote that if steps were not taken to abate the "nuisance caused by the overflow of water into his sections in Robinson street, he would take action wn..iout further notice. Mr Hubbard said the matter had been attended to. Mr W. Stewart interviewed tie Beard, asking them to reconsider their decision in regard to the obstruction ot the race near his section. It was resolved, after discussion, to leave tho matter in abeyance until next meeting. On the motion of Mr Andrew, seconded by Mr Hubbard, a rate of |d in the £ was struck, a special meeting to be held on April _*otli, to confirm same. It was resolved to call for applications for the position of poundkeeper, leasing pound grounds, working overseer, and lighting 51 reel lamps when necessary.
