(SPFXIAL' TO "THE TRESS.") WELLINGTON, April 20. Amongst tb© New Zealauders resident in San Francisco are two sisters of Nurse Palmer, who has a private hospital here. One of the sisters is the wifo of Mr Roberts, who at one time was manager of tho Bank of New Zealand in Dunedin'. They live in a stone house in one of the suburbs which is said to havo suffered by the earthquake. The "Evening Post" gives th« following particulars of New Zealandeis resident in San Francisco: — There was a club in San Francisco composed of New Zealauders and Australians, appropriately named the " Cooeo " Club. Mr Frank Williams, & well-known Auckland musician, had his business premises in Market street. Mr Frank Fraer, draper, of Dunedin, had a position in a large soft goods house. Mrs J. L. Taylor, who, as M.ss Jossie Wilson, was well-known in amateur operatic circles in Wellington some years ago, resided with her nusband and child in Sau r'ranci-co. Mr Dave Wilson, of the "Evening Post" staff is her brother-in-law. Mr Alf, Pilkington, brother of Captain Pilkington, of the New Zealand Royal Artillery and his wife, who is a- sister of Mr Angus McCurdy (Colonial Secretary of the Farmers' Union) are residents of San Francisco. Mra A. M.cCurdy's sister also resides in the same city. Mr Edward Cooper, a brother of Mr Justice Cooper, has been a resident of San Francisco for some years. Mr Chos. A. Kerr, an old Auckland boy, it manager of the Union Ironworks. Mr J. Haultain (son of the late Colonel Haultain) left' Auckland with his wife some years ago for San Francisco, ana were still residing there when the last mail left. Mrs Wm. Clayton, of Wellington, has threo brothers—Messrs Charles, Harry, and Alfred Cameron— sons of the manager of the Auckland Savings Bank, living in San Francisco. Mr Charles Rhodes, Attorney and local director of the Waihi Gold Mining ComEany, has a son in San Francisco, and c and his wifo left Auckland last week to see him. Mr Jack Baty, of Christchurch, has a brother there. One of tho best-known erstwhile New Zealanders in the Californian capital is Mr Hugh Craig, who has held a prominent business position therefor many .years. Others resident in that city include:—Mr A. Jj. Williams (son of tho Rev. J. Williams) and Mr Sando© (Ashburton). Mr Rusden, who wias drill instructor on the Wellington staff of tho Permanent Artillery, settled last month with Mrs Rusden in Berkeley. Mrs Rusden's relatives reside in Berkeley, and there, according to a letter received by last week's mail, Mr and | Mrs Rusden intended going into business. They left Wellington early last [month and have many friends her© who naturally are very anxious regarding ' how they havo fared in th© destruction |of Berkeley. Other ex-New Zealanders in San Francisco ar© Mr Georgo Spen[cer (son of Mr Thos. Spencer, who was drowned in the wreck of tho Wairarapa, and brother-in-law of Mr H. R. L_awry, of tho Bank of New Zealand, Wellington) and his wife and two daughters and a son of Mr Walmsley, DeputyCommissioner of Taxes. Mr D. E. Lindsay, tho New Zealand Mail Agent, left (for San Francisco on tho 23nu ultimo, and it is believed that he had not started on his return journey when the disaster occurred. Mrs Wilkms, mother of Mr F. B. Wilkins, manager of the Massey-Harris Co., Wellington, is amongst the residents of San Jrancisco. Sho formerly lived in Wellington. The President of the Olympic Club, San Francisco, is Mr W. Greer Harrison, formerly of Auckland.
