Considering it was the opening meeting, everything p.i-sscd' off most successfully, and tho snort bid* -fair to obtain a. firm foothold in this -province. Mr Lcn. Ruttledge's decisions gave universal satisfaction, and in Mr "W. Fox tha c'.u.b has got a first-rato flioper. 'fhoujrh lame in the off hind leg, tho favourite dog, Starlight, won tho Pluarrpton P~rk Cup in a cceisivc manner, ar.d waa loudly cheered as he was led' back to the paddock Biter tho final round.
