The Mayer (Mr C. M. Gray, M.H.R.) lias the following letter to Nut-so Maude: — Ooar Madam,— It is with feelings of unfeigned sorrow that I learned to-day of the breakdown of your health. Such an occurrence at the present juncture is nothing short of a calamity. I can fully endorse tho woixls used in the leading columns of the "Lyttelton Times'' tlii-; morning, "that the suffering poor have no braver or more helpful friend, ■and no one could havo. been more devoted to finding out the sirk and the miserable, nur-ing them, and providing thorn with focd and clothing" thai! yourself.
