CARELESS USE OF FIREARMS. (l'-£SS ASSOCIATION" .E_EG_A_S.I DUNEDIN, April 18. An inquest was held to-day touching the death of George C. H. Victor Brookes, fifteen : * ins of age. The jury returned a verdict of accidental death, with a rider expressing the need for some legislative enactment, by which indiscriminate sale cf fire arms, particularly to juveniles, should be curtailed.

HAMILTON, April 18. Mr Hursthouse, Chief Engineer of Roads, was taken to Waikato Hospital yesterday, suffering from gastric hemorrhage.
