BARQUE'S LONG VOYAGE.
RESCUE IN THE BAY OF BISCAY,
United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, April 13. The barque Swanhilda, 107 days out from Coqnimbo, has arrived. She •met with a series of gales, and was knocking about for a fortnight within 300 miles of Sydney. She arrived too late for her wheat charter. The ship Kalliope, from Hamburg, reports falling in with tho Norwegian barque Servia in the Bay of Biscay, in a sinking condition. Sho had sprung a leak. In tho faco of a heavy gale and a high sea, a boat from tho Kalliope was launched and made two trips, and succeeded in rescuing the Sorvia's anew, sevonteen all told. The men jumped overboard one by one, with a life-line attached, and were drawn, half-drowned, into the boat. The men were landed at Madeira. The Servia, which was in ballast, was subsequently seen by a passing vessel, floating with her port gunwale under, in latitude 40 deg. north, longitude 12 deg. west. All the sails were bent, and the spars in proper order. The Kalliope had a stormy time, hor sails being blown away.
