Tho maid Norafli went to consult a for-tune-teller and re turned wailing dismally. "Did she predict some great trouble?" I asked sympathetically. "Och, mem, such terrible news," moaned Norah, rocking back and forth wringing her hands. "Toll mc," 1 said, wishing to comfort the girl. "She tould mc thot mo father wurks hard shovellin' coal an' 'tindin' foire6 fer a livin'." "But that's no disgrace nor sorrow," I said, a trifle vexed at such affectation. "Och, mem, mc poor-Jiihcr!" sobbed Norah. "He's bin doad these nome years."
