Ho is en route to Canada, and, while there, will interview tbo Canadian Ministry on Exhibition matters. He is endeavouring to induce the Canadian-Pacific people to make a display of their beautiful pictures and pcenee in connection with the main, railway line from Vancouver. Representatives of the Horticultural and Landscape Gardening Committee, accompanied by Dr. Cockayne and Mr R. Allan, Executive Commissioner, visited the Exhibition grounds for the purpose of selecting a site on which to establish a rockery. A very suitable position wee chosen on the corner of the main buildings near Armagh etreet, well protected from, tho nor'-weetors, and it is intended to place on these rockeries Alpine plants, and arrangements were made to collect the necessary specimen*. It is anticipated that tbie rockery will make a brilliant show. The work is to be put in hand at once, bo that everything will bo in readiness to Teceive tho plinta at tlie proper eoaeon. The ordinary monthly meeting of the Executive Committee for the reception iof reports, etc., will be held on Thursday next at the City Council Chambers.
