NEW ZEALAND TEAM'S TOUE. It was annjjpced a few days ago that, owing to the financial 'euccete of the tour of the New Zealand team at Home the New Zealand Rugby Union would l>c enabled to repay the amounts subscribed by guarantors, plus 5 per cent, interest. This decision hae beea acted on very promptly, as on Saturday the secretary of the Canterbury Rugby Union, which body. guaranteed £250, received a cheque for £263 3s 3d. In forwarding th§ cheque the secretary of the New Zealand Union wrote:—"l am directed by my Union to convey to you ite hearty appreciation of the generous and sportsmanlike spirit in which the money was subscribed with no expectation of reward, and with eomo riet of lose."
