ADDINGTON LIVE STOCK MARKET.

(BT OCT*. COMMERCIAL EDITOB.) There was a large entry of stock in the yards, and tho attendance was also much above the average. Prime beef sold well up to last week's rates, but cow beef was much oa.sier. There was an improvement, in tho prices of fat lambs, mainly on account of better quality. Store sheep sold well, and there was a large entry of fat sheep,

wethers selling at late rates, while ewes wero much lower in price. There was a better demand for bacon pigs, but stores wore dull of sale. There was a poor demand for storo cattle. STORE SHEEP. The entry of store sheep was about 3000, and all classes sold well. The principal lots sold were 430 fourtooth wethers los 4d, 39 at 16s 7d, 450 nt 15s 3d, 114 two-tooths at 15s sd, 369 at 12s 7d, 58 lambs at 13s, 84 at 12s 4d, 200 at Us Gd, 500 at 10s Id to 10s lid, 7G at 10s lid, 30 four-tooth ewes at 18s 6d, 83 two-tooths at 17s id, 81 at 15s 9d, 300 sound-mouth at 12s to 12s 2d, 70 aged 9s Id. FAT LAMBS. There wero 2113 fat lambs penned, the quality being an improvement upon recent yardings. Tho demajid for export was good, and prioes were firmer. There were 1834 taken for freezing at 14s Id to 15s 9d, and the balance of 279 went to butchers at lis od to 15s Bd, and a few extra to 16s 3d. Smith (Charing Cross), 52 at 13s Bd. FAT SHEEP. Tho yarding of fat sheep was the largest for some time past, and included Gome good lines of crossbred and merino wethers. The bulk of the entry was, however, composed or crossbred ewes, and tho market for these opened about Is 6d to 2s per head below last week's rates, and as the butchers filled their requirements aged or over-fat ewes became almost unsaleable except at a further decline of Is Gd to 2s per head, and a number of lines wei-e, therefore, withdrawn. Ewes with fair to good mouths, though selling irregularly, kept well up to tho opening prices throughout tho sale, and several lines of young ewes were bought to go south. Merino wethers declined somewhat in value in sympathy with ewes, but crcssbred wethers sold well up to late rates, tho : butchers buying all but a few lots, as I most of tho wethers offered wore too heavy for export. Tho range of prices j was as follows:—Prime wethers 18s to 20s, lighterweights 16s 3d to 17s 9d, prime owes 16s to 18s Id, a few to 19s 6d. medium 13s to los Gd, aged and inferior 8s 6d to 12s 6d. -rood to prime merino wethers 13s to 15s Bd, others 9s lOd to 12s 6d. There were 242 fat cattle penned, a considerable portion being cows, which met with a sharp decline in prices. Prime'store .beef cold well up to the previous week's natoe. Eleven steers from Mr Thos. Chapman (Mount Palm; made £10 5s to £11, and 10 heifers £8 5s to £8 15s, and from Mr D. D. Macfarlane (Lyndon) 9 steers to £7 15s to £8 15s, and 6 heifers £6 5s to £6 los. Other steers sold at £6 5s to £10 13s Gd, heifers £5 2s 6d to £7 15s, and cows £4 15s to £7 los, equal to 22s to 24s 6d for prime, and 17s to 21s for inferior to medium quality beef per 1001b. Veal calves were dull of sale et 76 6d to 455. STORE AND DAIRY CATTLE. The entry of storo cattle was fair, but the cattle met with a dull sale, the quality being mostly inferior. There was a fair demand for good dairy cows. Yearlings made 17s, fifteen to eighteen months 35s to 39s Gd, two-year-old heifers (good) to £3, three-year-old steers £5 to £5 2s 6d, do heifers £3 os to £3 17s 6d. dry cows 26s to £3 10s. Dairy oows sold at £3 10s to £8.

I PIGS. | There was a fair yarding of pigs, except baconers, which were in short supply, and met with a better sale. Porki ers sold about the same as the previous week, but stores were not in very good demand. Baconers made _4a to 445, equal to 3id per lb, large porkers 28s to 325, smaller 20s to 275, equal to 4id per lb, krge stores los to 20s, medium 10s to 14s, and suckers and weaners 3s to Bs.
