NOTES AND MEMORANDA.
The third local wool sale of the seaeon will take place at the Alexandra Hall to-night, at 7.30, and will be continued, to-morrow, at 9 a.m. Mr C. Burgess, who is a candidate for the seat on the Drainage Board for tho Avon district,, will meet his supporters at Alexander's Hall, Marshlands, to-night, at Papanui Library on Friday, and at Hawker's Hall, Now Brighton, on Saturday, all the meetings will commence at 8 p.m.
A meeting of ratepayers in connection with the Draina_e Board election will be held at the Public Library, Wookton, to-night, at eight o'clock.
Tho annual meeting of tho Christchurch Building and Land Society will take place on the 19th inst., at 4 p.m. The half-yearly genera! meeting of members of the Union Rowing Club will bo held at the boathouse on Monday week.
