ROBBERIES AT AUCKLAND.

A daring robbery was perpetrated on tihe premises of Mrs James Henderson, near the Paraell entrance of the f>omain, tihe house being entered on New Year s Eve, apparently through the open front door, -while the family and some friends were in' the drawing-room, the doors of which were also open. Mrs Henderson's room was ransacked by the thief and a large collection of diamond rings and other jewellery, with about £20 in cash, representing a total value j of at least £150 were taken. At the Police Court to-day, William j and Herary Green appeared to answer ' a charge of violently robbing an elderly man named diaries Fagan, on Janu- ; ary Ist, in the Auckland Domain. Chief Detective Marsack asked for a week's remand. The Benoh, in granting the j remand, fixed the bail for each of the accused .at- two sureties of £100. |
