Great interest centred in tlie Bicycle Bead Raco to Chertsey and back, a distance of about 13 miles. There were 11 starters, the race being won by R. ELapjKjr, with S. Wilson second, while made fastest time (41min 40sec), a very good performance considering tho heavy etato of the roads. The school prizes were then presented by Mr T. Doig, chairman of the committee, and Miae G. O. Smith, mistress, who leaves the school this iveek, was presented with a travelling bag suitably •inscribed, and a greenstone and gold brooch, by Mr Jos. Allen, on bebalt of the parents and children. After the usual fcpeeches and votes of thanks to all assisting, the room was cleared for dancing which was kept up with,spirit until the "wee sma' oors," excellent music being supplied by Mr W. Syine.
