Mr H. W. Bishop, S.M., presided at the Magistrate's Court yesterday. IDLE AND DISORDERLY. Richard Tubman was •charged with being an idle and disorderly person, in that he had no lawful risible means of support. The police proved the charge. There were forty-eight previous conv.ctions against accused, and he w&s sentenced to three months' imprisonment, with hard labour. DRUNKENNESS. Two firet offenders were each fined Sβ, or twent3 - -four hours' imprisonment. OBSCENE LANGUAGE. Arthur Hudson was charged with being drank and using obscene language on the Ricoarton road. Accused said he remembered nothing. Evidence in support of the charge was given by the police and two civilians, who heard accused use disgusting language. On the charge of drunkenness he "was convicted, and. on the charge of using bad language ho was sent to prison for cix months, with hard labour. A ROGUE AND A VAGABOND. Sarah Saywell was charged with being drunk, and having one previous conviction against her, and with being a rogue and a vagabond. Seigeante Morgan and Bird proved the charge, and stated that accused was a bad character well knoAVn to tho police. She was sent to prison for twelve months, with hard labour.
