LAYING THE FOUNDATION . STONE. LIKE ENTERPRISES OF THE PAST. AN INTERESTING KETROSPECT. To-day the ceremony of laying the foundation stono of the International Exhibition will bo performed by the Right lien, the Premier on the site in the North Park. In view of this a review of former exliibitions will be intending. These included, the local ones of an iiKlusu-ial character promoted by tht) Canterbury Industrial Association, the International Exhibition held at C'nrLstchurch, and the intercolonial one at Dunedin, the exhibition promoted by the Government at Wellington, and the . Auckland Industrial Exlubitioii promoted under tlie auspices of tho local Chamber ot Commerce. These nerved to show the progress made, which has now culminated in nn exhibition to which New Zealand invites all tho nations to tend their manufactures sud products.
