PERSONAL ITEMS.
The Premier «™1 Mre Seddon » SJr Joseph Ward, with Mr B. Wilson, private secretary, tho Hons. J. Carroll, C. H. Mills, and T. Y. Duncan (accompanied by Mr Mewhinney, secretary) arrived in town yesterday. The Hon. T. W. Hislop, Mayo? of Wellington, is in town. Mr C. E. Horton (Auokland), Mr A. Mustan (Sydney), Mr T.. E. Donne (Wellinctton), Mr G. Gow (Wellington), Mr W. White (Timaru), Mr 0. MoAhstor (London), Mr W. Crow (Wellington), and Mr H. Gatsrord (Dannevirke) are in town. . Mx G. B. Ilobinson., of MeUiyen, was a passenger for Hammer Springs by Saturday's north express train. MLss Budge (Gisborne) end Mr D. A. Aiken (Wellington) arrived in town on Saturday. Mr Oxlcy, of the Dunedin office, has been appointed postmaster at Waipawa. Miss A. Duncan and Miss H. Meadows, each of Tvhom is to be married Shortly, were~on Friday evening last entertained at a social in the Durham street Methodist Schoolroom, and made the recipients of presentations. Mrs Wells, on behalf of the Rev. H. R. Dewsbury and Mrs Dewsbury, the church choir, tho organist, and other friends of the two ladies, presented Miss Duncan with a silver teapot, and Miss Meadows with a silver salver and hot water jug.
