Oα Thursday a match was played at Hagloy Park between the Christchurch Veterans and the Hairdressers. Scores: Veterans 278 for six wickets, innings declared closed (Dann 108, Frith 100, Washer 26, and McNae 24); Hairdressers 98 (Jenkins 34 and Henwood 11). For the Veterans, Goring six for 50, and Turner three for 19, and for the losers, Woodward and Smith, were the most successful with the ball. Lyttelton Methodists played >>ew Brighton at Lytteltou on Saturday, when tho former team won by an innings and 46 runs. Tho ecoraj. were: —Lyttelton 99 (Parker 20, 'layior 17, Cousens 13); New Brighton 18 and 35. Sowden bowled beet for Lyttelton, as d:d Owens for New Brighton. PRIMARY SCHOOLS COMPETITION.
