Report:—Our second series of eales was held to-day, with offerings totalling about 22,800 bales, -which constitutes a record for any series yet held in New Zealand. There was a large attendance of Home, foreign, and'local buyere, and the :aies wero marked throughout by spirited competition for the better claeses of halfbiode and cros&breds. Merinos were not much enquired for, «nd tho lower qualities especially were not in request. Coarse crosabreds and lor.gwools suffered a decline in values, and shabby three-quarterbreda were also easier. Pieces and oddments sold well.
Compared with Novomter series euper halfbrede wero 4d better, sm much ac 13jd being given for a specially good line. Merinos wero about on a par and lower grade crcesbreds and longwoole were 4d to Id lower. Showy three-quarterbreds were well maintained, but interior were about Jd lower. Pieces, bellies, etc., realised rather better values, lid being paid for five bales Kaiwara. '
