The Temperanoo anil Morels Committee of the Methodist Church communicated with candidates for Parliament eubmitting the following questions:—(l) Are you in favour of the continued legislation of the totn lisa tor in this colony?. (2) If elected will you support a Bill for its abolition if introduced into the next Parliament? Rβpliea have been received in the negative to the first question and in the affirmative to tho bccond from 44 candidates all over tho colony. Several are in favour of taking a referendum on the subject, and others have replied they will only answer questions from the platr form.
