CASUALTIES.
An inquest wns held at Amberfey on Monday, before Mr W. H. Rhodes, Act-ing-Coroner, concerning the death of Mrs Alary Ann Ticknor, whowu found drowned the previous day. After hearing, evidence • verdict of suicide whilst temporarily insane was returned. (PKISS ASSOCIATION TELSGBAX.) AUCKLAND, November 13. Louis Birch, a tram conductor, was jambed between two cars, receiving • compound fracture of the knee. NEW PLYMOUTH, November 14. The body of Frank Sorrell, bookkeeper at O'Brien's Criterion Hotel, who has been miesang for eight days, was found tim tnornitag awe-rfc 'the lupim clcea to the municipal baths, •with the throat cut from ear to ear. A razor was lying alongside, and a note found on the body conveyed a message of farewell to Jir O'Brien, and indicating Sorrell'e detention to commit suicide. Sorreli was a native of Adelaide, and was aged 35 years. He was a'single man.
