WELLINGTON NOTES.
(special to "ttie press.") WELLINGTON, November 14. Mr Jellicoe is writing a book, which will go to press as soon «us ho returns to England, on "New Zealand Courts of Justice." It will contain sketches of judges and oourt officials covering Mr Jellicoe'e career at the New Zealand Bar, commencing with the celebrated Waring-Taylor case in 1885, and ending with tlio Audit Commission, the evidonoo and argument in which closed only a few days ago. Tho Gothic, which arrived at Wellington last week from London, brought ltiS English immigrants, 25 Scote, and 3 Irish. According to a return issued by the tramway officials, the passengers carried in the oaTS during the week ended October 31st totalled 254,721. Of theeo 182.862 paid Id, 63,105 paid 2d, 8034 paid 3d, and 720 paid lid, making up revenue of £1392. These figures tshow a decrease of 12,344 passengers and £71 in revenue on those for the previous week. For tho four weeke ending October 24th last, the number of passengers carried over all sections was 1.032.198, representing revenue of £5e85, as against 968,111 paesengers, representing revenue of £5330, for the preceding four weeke. This gives a net increase of 64,087 passengers and £355 for tho October weeks over those of September.
